A CONVERSATION WITH GOD ;)

Here it is boys & girls, our special little meet & greet with RICHARD DURAND.. Even though we tried our tits off, neither of us managed to score any "extra special groupie" points unfortunately. As was to be expected, Richard is the kindest, most handsome person we have ever touched .. he smells like dreams too..

Thanks so much Richard, you are a God. We can't wait to meet you again (and try even harder to get some piece of action ;).

RICHARD'S TAKE ON BRAZEN (WEEP)

if you place your ears next to your speakers (careful now!), you can almost make out the crowd singing/shouting/screaming along:

"WHY DON`T YOU WEEP
WHEN I HURT YOU
WHY DON`T YOU WEEP
WHEN I CUT YOU
YOU DON`T BLEED
AND THE ANGER BUILDS UP INSIDE"

thanks for putting this up on YouTube ElBazzo; a modern-day tearjerker which is surely going to be super-mega-HUGE if it's ever released :)

GOING DUTCH !

Happy new year everyone!!! Here's a movie we made of our trip to Amsterdam last week, as you can see it was an absolute blast! The best is yet to come though: stay tuned for a movie of our meeting with Richard Durand !!!! :D

SLIPPING (OUT OF MY CLOTHES FOR MR RD)

Gearing up for our trip to actually meet (!!!) Richard (!!!!) in the Netherlands (!!!!!), I found this '95 remix of SLIPPING AWAY. As the man himself, it's absolutely beautiful..

I actually found myself trying to fully take in his talent by licking my laptop's screen while listening to the tune below.. even though it's covered with dust & dirty fingerprints, all I could taste was the sweet sensation of love.

Richard, if you're reading this, know that I'm truly, deeply in love with you x

UPDATE: we made a short video of our reaction, don't we look like the luckiest girls ever :)

RICHARD ENTERS DJMAG TOP100

CHECK IT OUT !!!!! :D

91: Richard Durand
STYLE: james@djmag.com
KNOWN FOR: My remixes for Tiësto, 'Lethal Industry', 'Flight 643' and 'Break My Fall', and my own tracks 'Make Me Scream', 'Ricohet' and 'Sweep And Repeat'.
TUNE OF 2007: First State vs Anit Kelsy's 'Falling'.
PRODUCER OF 2007: Sander van Doorn
BREAKTHROUGH DJ OF 2008: Pascal Feliz

Your musical inspiration? The tunes come to me when I'm fit and well rested! Best festival on the planet? Mysteryland in Holland and Sunrise Festival in Poland. Best bit of kit? My Apple notebook that I take with me all the time so I can make music on airplanes and in hotels. What tune makes you cry? I hate the track 'Heater' by Samim. Naughtiest thing you've done this year? I had sex with a girl who I then met again a few weeks later with an older friend of hers who I'd also had a nice night with a few months ago. The younger girl introduced me to her older friend and said, "This is my mother"…

"I've played for eight or nine years in Holland," says Dutchman Richard Durand of his career before 2007. "And Holland's not so big! Now I can play my music all round the world and that's really nice."
Breaking free from the confines of his homeland after remixing trance superstar Tiësto, a former Top 100 Winner, the last 12 months have seen a huge upswing in his career with a newfound international status to boot.
"I couldn't believe that everyone knows me and my tracks," beams Richard

With a wave of bookings, crowds have been going crazy for his sets, which consist almost entirely of his own productions, remixes and re-edits.
"I think it's better to play my own tracks," explains Richard. "It's not necessarily that they're better, but it's a more personal experience. And you're really sure that you're playing something different to the DJ before or after. I just do my own thing."

Such great news! Here's to breaking the TOP-5 next in 2008 (you'd better beleive it :)

MORE GODSKITCHEN

Here's some short but sweet vids of Richard's Godskitchen tour (alas, still only in Australia). Especially hope to be hearing more of the Snow Patrol remix, as their latest album has been helping me get up in the morning for the past few weeks now. Wish I could've been there, sigh.. I would definitely have stood as close to Richard as physically possible; can't see much of him from where you were standing mister cameraman <3 (thanks for posting them none the less of course :).

SO JEALOUS !

These were taken at GODSKITCHEN, PERTH. Check out the extremely lucky ladies dancing next to Richard's booth. Looking good! I'm sure I could manage dancing like that if you were just to ask me Richard <3

IT'S THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT IN SYDNEY

Some class clips of Richard taken on his conquests around the world, sure to get your weekend off to a banging start! Especially if like me, you just woke up and are reading this half-naked on your laptop, with a banging headache due to substances taken the night before and are pondering on whether or not to do the same again this evening. I seemed to be set in on staying in tonight, but changed my mind after finding these.. Even the slightest glimpse of Durand seems to always get me in the party-mood, whatever wicked state I might be in! So do your dance-loving self a favor tonight and embrace the two-day-a-week weekend-phenomenon, wherever you might be around the world :)

Richard in Mumbai + liveset

While reading up on Richard's Indian adventure, I stumbled across this link to an amazing 60 minute live-set taped during one of his recent performances! Without a doubt one of the best sets I've ever heard blasting from my beloved iPod Hi-Fi! Free hugs to anyone who can tell me when and where this was recorded :)

WISH I COULD HAVE BEEN THERE !!!

Here are some pictures I found of Richard's set at Gatecrasher last week ..

I LOVE RICHARD DURAND . COM

Here it is! A few weeks ago during one of our infamous drunken nights out, we had somewhat of an epiphany.. Zuzanne and I decided we would become the greatest Richard Durand fansite in the universe! We wanted to change the direction of our blog for a while now, so what better subject to focus on than our most favorite dj :)

From now on, you will be able to reach us at ilovericharddurand.com!! keep checking for updates as I have some a new video I will be uploading asap <3

US IN HIGH RESOLUTION

I have just added a few of our movies to Stage6 because they look much better than YouTube (Thanks for the tip Greta the Great!). Even though it is a slight hassle, I will try and upload our videos to YouTube as well as Stage6. If you want to check me out over there here's the link.

Furthermore, as we felt the urge to focus this site on something (or perhaps even "someone") we will be making some really cool/big/humongous changes to the page in the coming week! I'll sing a personal song to anyone who can guess what we've got cooking Inside Our Brain :)

Love you all <3
